Dogs that own responsible humans are welcome in the two ground floor apartments (Cherry and Meadow View) for a small supplement. One ground and one upper apartment (Cherry and Lake View) are non-smoking and have an interconnecting door, normally locked - but if they are let together a key can be provided. Smokers are welcome in Meadow View whether it be the dog or its humans that smoke. Tor View has the only double bed, the rest are twins. The ground floor apartments are accessible to those with limited mobility but a few steps are involved and wheelchair access is not possible.

Shops and Services

Shops for essentials and two pubs, one serving lunchtime and evening meals - are within easy walking distance of our location, with a more comprehensive range of shops, restaurants and pubs in the village and the world famous Cheddar Gorge.

Things to do

Venns ViewsThe area is famous for strawberries, cheese and cider. Local facilities include adventure caving, leisure centre and swimming pool, Cheddar Gorge and the picturesque Mendip Hills. These offer open countryside and magnificent views for those wishing to walk in unspoiled surroundings. Other activities such as golf, horse riding, fishing, sailing and an artificial ski slope with ski lift are also available close by.

Within easy reach of Cheddar are the beautiful catheral city of Wells and the historic town of Glastonbury. Bath with its famous Georgian buildings and Roman Baths is 25 miles away, whilst Bristol with its large shopping centres, museums, theatres and historic docks is 18 miles from Cheddar. For those who enjoy a day on the beach, the seaside resort of Weston-Super-Mare is 10 miles distant.
